CASwell has launched its new CAR-4040 network appliance to handle the most demanding and advanced network tasks including the rising SD-WAN. This device supports the latest Intel Coffee Lake processors with up to six CPU cores. It’s a flexible solution for every customer requirement and can be equipped with an Intel Xeon E3 v5 processor but Core i7/i5/i3 and even Pentium and Celeron of Intel’s 8th Core Generation are also available.
The CAR-4040 supports four DDR4-2666 ECC DRAM modules with a memory capacity of up to 64 GByte overall to handle many simultaneous tasks. Four CASwell proprietary network interface cards (NIC) using PCI Express 3.0 (x8 lanes) support up to 32 10-Gbit-Ethernet ports for highly parallel networking. Four SATA/SAS 3.5″ hard drives and one M.2 SATA SSD can be installed for both fast and extensive storage.
Two redundant power supply units with 300 Watt each provide safety in case of failure and the latest Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI 2.0) monitors system health to alert you in potentially dangerous conditions.
