2026/10/6 – CASwell, a leading manufacturer of innovative and high-performance SD-WAN (uCPE/vCPE) and network security systems, introduces the CAR-6041, a 1U network appliance designed for networking, cybersecurity, and edge infrastructure applications. Powered by 5th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors (Emerald Rapids), the new platform combines enterprise-class compute performance with flexible PCIe expansion, high-speed DDR5 memory, and redundant power in a space-efficient form factor.
The CAR-6041 is designed for OEMs, system integrators, network security vendors, managed service providers, and enterprises looking to deploy advanced security and networking functions at the edge. Its 1U design provides a balance of computing capability, connectivity, storage, and expansion while helping organizations optimize rack space in edge data centers, telecom environments, and enterprise infrastructure.
High-Performance Intel Xeon Processing
At the heart of the CAR-6041 is a single 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processor, based on the Emerald Rapids architecture. This system supports up to 24 processor cores, providing the processing capacity required for demanding network security and virtualized workloads. 5th Gen Intel Xeon processors support up to eight channels of DDR5 memory and memory speeds of up to 5,600 MT/s, enabling high memory bandwidth for data-intensive applications.
The CAR-6041 provides eight DDR5 ECC RDIMM slots, supporting high-capacity system memory of up to 128GB while delivering the reliability required for continuous network and security operations.
Flexible Networking and PCIe Expansion
Designed as a flexible foundation for network security solutions, the CAR-6041 features two standard NIC expansion slots, comprising one half-height, half-length and one full-height, half-length PCIe x16 slot. This architecture allows customers to configure the appliance with networking adapters suited to their specific application and deployment requirements.
The flexible expansion architecture supports a broad range of network and security applications, including next-generation firewalls (NGFW), Unified Threat Management (UTM), SD-WAN security, VPN gateways, intrusion detection and prevention (IDS/IPS), secure networking, and virtualized network functions.
Compact Design for Edge Deployments
With a height of only 44 mm, the CAR-6041 is designed to provide enterprise-class computing and networking capabilities within a compact 1U rackmount form factor. The system measures 443 mm in width and 550 mm in depth, making it suitable for space-constrained data centers, central offices, telecom environments, and distributed edge deployments.
For storage, the platform supports one swappable U.2/SATA SSD through a PCIe x4 interface, providing flexible storage options for operating systems, security applications, logs, and other network workloads.
The CAR-6041 also supports a common redundant power supply (CRPS) of up to 800W, providing the power capacity and redundancy required for demanding enterprise and network infrastructure deployments.
Built for Modern Network Security
By combining 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processing, DDR5 ECC memory, flexible PCIe networking, swappable storage, and redundant power in a 1U chassis, the CAR-6041 provides a scalable hardware foundation for modern cybersecurity and network infrastructure solutions.
The platform is optimized for OEM and system-integrator deployments, enabling customers to integrate their own security software, networking stacks, and virtualized services into a standardized enterprise-grade appliance. The CASwell CAR-6041 is now available for OEM and system integration projects.
