CASwell has released the new industrial-grade MEC-1100 IoT gateways to enhance control and sensoring in smart factories but also for monitoring and managing energy control systems, especially with renwable energies where the highest resource utilization is indispensable.
The MEC-1100 is based on the Intel Apollo Lake-I platform using the Intel Atom E3900 series of SoC and up to 8 GByte of 1866 MHz SO-DIMM DDR3L main memory. Two RJ-45 Gigabit-Ethernet ports – enabled by the Intel Ethernet-Controller I210-IT – and Wi-Fi 802.11n/ac are providing network functionality. This can by option be enhanced with a 3G/4G module for cellular connectivity to provide even more networking flexibility.
The MEC-1100 is well suited for “supervisory control and data acquisition” (SCADA) in smart factories or similar deployments and are perfect solutions when connecting a monitoring system to a photovoltaic power station for renewable energy. That’s why they both are compliant with the IEC 61850-3 and the IEEE 1613 international communication standards for electric power substations.
The CASwell MEC-1100 are available in different configurations so they can be equipped according to many customer needs and networking requirements.
