08/29/2018 – CASwell recently made the new CAW-0110 desktop network appliance available for ordering and project-based customization. The ruggized industrial-grade device based on the energy-efficient Intel Atom Apollo Lake-I platform manufactured in proven 14 nm technology comes with fanless design for quiet operation and provides wired and wireless networking in either very low or very high temperatures.
The CASwell CAW-0110 provides four Gigabit-Ethernet ports and two PCI Express linked SFP ports for hot-pluggable network connections of up to 5 Gbit/s. A pair of Bypass switches ensures that the network keeps running even during maintenance or in case of power outages. Optional WiFi 802.11n/ac functionality is also supported. The Intel Atom x7-E3950 quad-core processor with up to 2 Ghz combined with 4 or 8 GByte of DDR3L SO-DIMM main memory (1600 or 1866 Mhz) guarantees high performance for every networking requirement.
For projects with energy restrictions the CAW-0110 can also be equipped with an Intel Atom x5-E3940 or x5-E3930 dual-core CPU with TDPs of only 9.5 or 6.5 Watts respectively.
The CASwell CAW-0110 is compliant with the IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 industry standards for electronic networking devices to be safely used even in electric power stations and can operate at temperatures as low as -40°C and as high as 70°C.
The CASwell CAW-0110 is available already and can be equipped according to almost every customer need and networking requirement. For even more network connections the CAW-0111 with five Gbit-Ethernet ports and two pairs of Bypass switches is also shipping now and the CASwell CAW-0112 with six Gbit-Ethernet ports will be coming soon.
