CASwell Launches CAR-2070 1U Rack-Mount Solution Utilizing The 6th & 7th Generation Intel Core Processor (Codenamed Skylake-S)

For Software Defined Networking (SDN), Network Function Vitalization (NFV) And Cloud Computing Applications

04/21/2017 – CAR-2070, the latest network communication security platform from CASwell Inc., is a 1U rackmount system featuring 14nm microarchitecture, the 6th generation Intel® Core™ processor (codenamed Skylake-S) and Intel® H110 chipset. The CAR-2070 features two DDR4 DIMMs, up to 2133MHz memory; flexible user interface; on board six ports with 2 segments bypass function and up to 14 RJ45/SFP/10GbE RJ45/SFP+/QSFP+ ports by one swappable CASwell NIC module. Other features include maximum of two 2.5˝ SATA HDDs and one 3.5’’ SATA HDD, RJ45 /Micro USB console and two USB ports, 150W single ATX power supply.

The CASwell CAR-2070 is implemented with front I/O flexibility and a multi-function design concept. Customers can select various combinations of 2.5˝ HDD/SSD, copper/fiber media, GbE/10GbE/40GbE and third-party hardware acceleration smart module and one character LCD display module with function buttons. In addition, the system equips a device information card which user can read the MAC or SN information without turn the system over, and front panel appearance can stay tidy. Inside the system, CASwell has reduced physical cable/wire connections to maximize airflow and electronic signal quality.

CASwell’s CAR-2070 system platform is targeted at software defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) applications, as well as traditional network security applications, such as firewall, VPN, IDS/IPS, anti-spam, anti-virus, UTM and WAN, and network management applications such as Virtualized Data Center, ADC, QoS, server load balancer, wireless controller, and industrial automation control via Ethernet TCP/IP.
