CASwell has introduced the new R-5111 high-end cloud storage servers to provide high processing performance, fast data access and flexible storage configurations by supporting a variety of drives at different form factors.
This devices is based on two Intel Xeon Scalable Processors (Skylake) using the C622 platform controller hub (Lewisburg) and offering 24 DIMM slots for up to 768 GByte DDR4-2666 ECC main memory. These cloud storage servers are equipped with two Gigabit-Ethernet RJ-45 ports and two 10-Gigabit-Ethernet SFP+ ports. There are two M.2 slots for implementing the operating system and server applications on a boot drive.
Six PWM-controlled fans are making sure the system runs cool while two redundant power supplies provide security in case of failure. PMBus 1.2 is supported for digital management of the PSUs and the “Intelligent Platform Management Interface” (IPMI 2.0) is used for system monitoring and administration.
The CASwell R-5111 is a flat 1U rackmount machine using CPUs up to the Intel Xeon Platinum 8153 with 16 cores but is also available in two forms. While the first one can be installed with up to eight 2.5″ SATA or SAS drives, the second SKU can handle up to ten 2.5″ NVMe U.2 SSDs.
The CASwell R-5111 are available in many different configurations so they can be equipped according to almost every customer need and storage or networking requirement.
